Features of Mountbatten plan [1947] | Indian Independence Act 1947

Mountbatten Scheme was announced on 3rd June 1947 AD according to which British India was to be partitioned in India and Pakistan. According to the Indian Independence Act of 1947, India and Pakistan Independence was announced. On 14th August 1947 AD, Pakistan was created separately from India. India became independent on August 15, 1947 AD.

First Prime Minister and  Governor General of India

Jawaharlal Nehru became the first Prime Minister of independent India. Lord Mountbatten became the Governor General of India. Liaquat Ali became the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Mohammad Ali Jinnah became Governor General.
